ABSTRACT: This study examines the role of micro-credentials in enhancing vocational resumes, focusing on their impact on employability and career advancement. The objectives were to (1) assess the awareness and perception of micro-credentials among vocational students and employers, (2) evaluate the effectiveness of micro-credentials in enhancing vocational resumes, and (3) propose strategies to increase the adoption of micro-credentials in vocational education. A survey design was chosen to gather data from students, educators, and employers to understand the value of micro-credentials. The sample size comprised 220 participants, selected through a purposive sampling technique to include those with direct experience in vocational education and hiring processes. The case study was conducted in Ogun State, Nigeria, an area with a diverse vocational sector. Findings revealed that micro-credentials were highly valued by both students and employers, as they provided verifiable proof of specific skills and competencies. However, awareness and adoption of micro-credentials were still limited. Recommendations included increasing awareness through information campaigns, integrating micro-credentials into vocational programs, and establishing partnerships with industry to ensure that micro-credentials are aligned with market needs and recognized by employers.
